Crop and export settings

These are general shapes, not platform-specific upload requirements.

Position selects the part of the source included. When a crop fills one axis, that axis cannot move.

Without upscaling, output is capped to the pixels in your crop. Height follows your ratio, rounded to a whole pixel.

PNG preserves transparency. Lossless PNG has no quality setting.

Your images stay with you.

Everything is processed in your browser. This tool does not upload or save your image. Refreshing or closing the page clears your work—download any crop you want to keep.

Zoom is a closer crop

Zooming in keeps fewer original pixels. Upscaling can make an export larger, but it cannot create detail. Actual output dimensions appear before you export.

A fresh copy

Original EXIF metadata, including camera and location details, is discarded when the crop is redrawn. Orientation is applied. Browser encoding may add technical metadata and affect colors.

Pick the right format

PNG keeps transparency. JPEG uses your chosen background. File size is the actual generated size; a new crop is not guaranteed to be smaller than its source.
